As I was coming home the first day of school last Wednesday, I felt overwhelmed by my own imperfections. I was flooded with thoughts of all the things I wish I had done differently or better and a general feeling of inadequacy. I wrote a brief entry in my journal about it. The rest of the week was better, but today as I was reading the journal entry from that day, the Lord brought to my mind a song/scripture that was the perfect reply to my thoughts:
9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
