Now accepting clients for spiritual direction!

I (Lindsay) am currently a student in the Certificate of Spiritual Direction program at the SMU Perkins School of Theology. As part of my practicum, I am seeking spiritual direction clients to meet with once a month, at no cost while I am a student under supervision. My services will be free of charge until after I graduate in January of 2025. I can see clients in-person in Richardson, Texas or remotely via Zoom. For more information, read on or contact me via the form at the bottom of the page.

My Spiritual Background & Areas of Interest

I am passionate about providing brave spaces for seekers to experience the divine in new, more expansive ways. I am especially drawn to providing support for clients who are grappling with foundational questions about their faith and/or are grieving the loss of their faith communities as they seek to connect with God in new ways. Together, we seek healing and wholeness in relationship with God, self, and others. Along with the other students in my program, I abide by the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct from Spiritual Directors International.

I have a white evangelical background and have spent the past 5-10 years deconstructing and reconstructing my faith while embracing a more contemplative spirituality. I am currently a member of a United Methodist Church but welcome clients from all (or no) faith backgrounds. Some of my areas of interest are Enneagram work, developing self-compassion and shame resilience, grief work, contemplative activism, and the divine feminine. I have studied with and worked for Enneagram teacher Suzanne Stabile and have taken classes through The Narrative Enneagram. I also have experience co-leading Be the Bridge groups for racial reconciliation and racial justice.

If you are interested in a meet and greet session via Zoom, please contact me below to schedule a time to meet. After the first meeting, you can decide if you want to proceed with monthly spiritual direction sessions, which can either be virtual or in-person in Richardson, Texas. If my schedule is full when you contact me, I would be glad to refer you to another student director or a trained spiritual director, according to your preference.

What is spiritual direction?

A trained listener serves as a compassionate companion on a client’s spiritual journey. Together, they seek to discern and respond to the voice and active presence of the Holy in order to experience greater freedom. Spiritual direction helps people awaken to the reality and movement of divine love in their lives so that they may participate in love’s restorative, transformative work in the world.
